Atlético Madrid's coach, Diego Simeone, talking in the post match press conference after his team had qualified for the quarter finals of the Copa del Rey with a goalless draw against Getafe, said that his team had done what they needed to, having run out 3-0 winners in the first leg at the Calderón.
He also praised the attitude of his players, whilst admitting that his team had "lacked a little bit of precision in terms of finishing". "We had chances to score", he said.
Simeone has still to lose a knock out tie as coach of Atletico, having been constantly triumphant in both Europe and the Copa del Rey. "Right now that's how it is, so we just have to look to the next game, which will be tough. Both Las Palmas and Betis are tough opponents, so we'll need to be on our guard for either of them", he said.
The Atleti coach was also asked about several heavy challenges on his star player Radamel Falcao, but seemed fairly relaxed about the situation: "It's football, it's normal. It's what happens in the game. It's up to the referee to decide what the players can and can't do".
Adrián López pulled out of the line up at the last minute with stomach problems and Simeone had this to say: "We were looking to play with Adrián, who gives us pace on the right. In the end he couldn't make it and we just hope he's ok tomorrow".
