Deportivo La Coruña have filed for bankruptcy and and will now be subject to the 'Ley Concursal'.
Representatives and lawyers from the club, estimated to have debts of 99 million euros, attended commercial court in Coruña on Thursday to present the necessary documentation in order for the club to enter into administration.
Now the commercial court will revise the documentation and in two weeks will announce whether the club will be allowed to go into administration.
The Galician club, who won the Spanish league in 2000, are currently 19th in the league table. They appointed new coach Domingos Paciencia last week, who began his reign with a 1-0 win over Málaga last weekend.
