Gareth Bale already knows who his favourite is for next year's Ballon d'Or.
The Tottenham winger, who has been linked with a move to Real Madrid in the summer, took to his Twitter account to praise Cristiano Ronaldo after the forward hit a hat-trick in Real Madrid's 4-0 win over Celta Vigo at the Santiago Bernabéu.
"Another hat-trick for Ronaldo! I think he is the best player in the world right now," wrote the Welshman, following his post with the hashtag "#ballondor2013'.
Moments later Bale was asked by a Twitter user which player was the best he had ever come up against, and the Spurs player responded: "Probably Cristiano Ronaldo or Ronaldinho".
The two players played on opposite sides when Real Madrid drew Tottenham in the quarter finals of the 2011 Champions League, which Madrid won 5-0 on aggregate.
The Portuguese forward has had a flying start to 2013, scoring five goals in his first two games of the year.
