Back scoring: "I was in a barren patch but grabbing a goal gives you confidence. I felt very comfortable against Espanyol the other day. I made a contribution with a couple of goals and I hope to continue along similar lines. I've freed myself a little from the rut I was in. Everyone was saying that I have been playing well but it's been a while since I have scored and luckily, that changed the other day. I have been through moments of desperation by the coach and my team mates have given me confidence".
Special memories of Messi: "It's really difficult to single out just one moment with him, there are so many. I consider myself very fortunate to be working alongside him every day. He is the best player in the history of the game and it's a pleasure to be winning trophies in the same team as him. I can't think of any specific moment - he's a great player and a great person who doesn't place too much importance on what he achieves. I will tell my children that I have had the privilege of being able to play with the best player in the world.
"If he continues at this pace, he will win it again because he is smashing every record and every year, he outdoes himself. We hope he continues at this level because he is so important for us".
Xavi and Iniesta: "They are two players who are always in the running - for their trajectories and for the many trophies they have won. We would have liked a Spanish player to have won but this year it was for Messi. It means a lot to us that our players are nominated".
Del Bosque's speech: "Vicente is a very polite and humble man. He transmits those values to those around him and he deserves the award for the successes he has gained and for the person he is. I say that because other people might not share my views but we are all completely behind him".
Competition for a place in the side: "I know that my place is the team is not guaranteed - not at all. Leo, Alexis, Villa, Isaac, Tello... All of them have the chance to play and right now, the boss is giving me minutes. I am training harder than ever so that I get a chance to play".
Guardiola's future: "Pep is a brilliant coach and wherever he goes I am sure that he will make his team competitive. I am especially grateful to him as he helped me to realize my dream of playing for Barça and I wish him the very best wherever he goes. Only he can decide where he wants to be and whichever team he takes on, he will turn them into winners".
