The big news at Real Madrid's training complex in Valdebebas on Monday was the sight of Marcelo training with the rest of his team mates - the full-back has been out of action since breaking his foot whilst on duty with Brazil in October.
Earlier, Cristiano Ronaldo was out on the training pitches to complete his workout alone. Rui Faria put the player through his paces before he flew out to Switzerland for tonight's FIFA gala.
On a bitterly cold and foggy morning at Real Madrid City, the rest of the squad began preparations for Wednesday's Copa del Rey Round of 16 tie with Celta. Once again Jose Mourinho called C team defender Diego Javier Llorente to train alongside the senior players. The coach divided his squad into two groups - the first of which comprising the outfield players who took part in Sunday's victory against Real Sociedad: Carvalho, Varane, Arbeloa, Khedira and Özil worked at a slower rhythm alongside Rui Faria.
The second group, which included Marcelo, trained as normal while the three goalkeepers: Casillas, Adán and Jesús exercised with goalkeeping coach, Silvino Louro.
The players return to Valdebebas tomorrow at the same time, 11:00 CET, to finalize their preparations for the Celta game.
