Lionel Messi was interviewed by the newspaper 'Olé' just before returning to Barcelona. The Argentine forward talked about his hopes for 2013 as well as Tito Vilanova's recovery.
Three wishes for 2013: "Among the sporting goals I have are winning the most titles possible with Barcelona and qualifying for the World Cup. Outside of work, I'd ask to stay in good health - that's the most important thing."
Argentina: "We're hoping to prepare well for the 2014 World Cup and that the team has all the confidence necessary to qualify in a difficult group. We're really hopeful."
His best year? "I always hope to improve in everything. And that includes my career, of course. I try to not think about my development in sport on a personal level. Obviously my way of thinking is changing as I get older, but I don't stop evaluating things that change in my game. At least, not for now."
Will Barça keep making history? "We just want to stay where we are, and keep improving..."
Tito: "Tito is part of our lives and I wish him all the best, which means that above all his health gets better for good."
Life with his newborn son: "Thiago arrived with a lot of excitement and happiness for all of us. He was the greatest thing that has happened to me. Of course I have anecdotes about him since his birth, but those are personal things."
