Barcelona returned to training today after the Christmas holidays. The big news of the day was the absence of Víctor Valdés and the return of Tito Vilanova.
The Barça trainer, who underwent an operation on his parotid gland on 20 December, was at the training ground this morning, but did not take charge of the training session.
The 'culé' goalkeeper sustained a foot injury and was ruled out of Catalonia's friendly against Nigeria.
The following players due to line-up for Catalonia took part in the session: Puyol, Piqué, Montoya, Jordi Alba, Xavi, Sergio Busquets, Tello, Bartra and Sergi Roberto.
The rest of the squad will train this evening at 18:00 in Sant Joan Despí during a session that will take place behind closed doors to prepare for the derby game against Espanyol.
