The English newspaper 'The Sun' speculated today, Sunday, about a possible 26-million euro offer from Real Madrid for the Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea. A few days ago, the Spanish webpage 'El Confidencial' also put forward this possibility, which seems more likely in the wake of Casillas' controversial substitution in Málaga.
De Gea, an academy player at Atlético, was sold to United for a figure close to 22 million euros 18 months ago. 'The Sun' cites a source close to Real Madrid, who affirms that "De Gea is definitely wanted by Mourinho, but a lot depends on his own future. But he's studied De Gea's form closely and he's very interested."
De Gea has played 12 matches in the Premier League this season, in which he's conceded 17 goals. He's 22 years old and a member of Spain's Under-21 team.
