Gonzalo Higuaín started today's Madrid training session working apart from his teammates with a physio, but ended it exercising with the rest of the group. The Argentine is in the final stages of his recovery and should be back on the pitch soon. Marcelo, meanwhile is still far from regaining full fitness; his return isn't imminent.
Higuaín tore a hamstring at the start of November in a Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund. The injury should have kept him off the pitch for three weeks. However, almost two months have gone by and he has yet to play again.
Marcelo broke the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in training with Brazil in the middle of October, and was scheduled to be out for three months. He underwent surgery and will have to wait a while longer to make his comeback.
