'La Gazzetta' places Antonio Conte under Madrid's radar

The Italian newspaper claims that Antonio Conte's successful reign at Juventus, after they won the Scudetto last season, is starting to generate interest among the board at Real Madrid.

The domino effect that will start rolling in the summer around Europe is set to place Juventus coach Antonio Conte under Real Madrid's radar. At least that's what 'La Gazzetta dello Sport' claimed as they also included Jose Mourinho in this maelstrom of changes in Europe's top dugouts.

The Real Madrid coach, along with Guardiola, will more than likely ply his trade in the Premier League, where it is presumed that the top three - Man Utd, Man City and Chelsea - will all make managerial changes.

The different options are growing slimmer all the time given that Pep is seen as favourite to take over at Manchester City and it is believed that Benítez' contract at Chelsea will be renewed. That only leaves Sir Alex Ferguson's retirement at Man Utd (Mou and Real Madrid's next opponents in the Champions League).

According to reports from AS in November, Mourinho's family will move to London next season and could be joined by the current Real Madrid coach.

Should a vacancy arise in the Bernabéu dugout, the Italian newspaper claimed that it could be filled by Juventus coach Antonio Conte, who started to rouse interest in the board at Real Madrid after he lead Juventus to their first Scudetto title in eight years last season.

However, following a successful campaign Conte became embroiled in a match-fixing scandal. Although the accusations were from his time at Siena and he always professed his innocence (the ten-month ban handed to him by the Italian authorities was subsequently reduced to four) his reputation was undoubtedly tarnished by the whole affair.
