Radamel Falcao won the prize for best player of 2012 in the Globe Soccer awards in Dubai. The Atlético Madrid and Columbia striker gave thanks to his teammates with both club and country: "Without them I couldn't have won". "Without the help of my teammates at Atlético and in the Columbian national team I couldn't have won what I have won", he said upon receiving the trophy.
Falcao refused to evaluate whether he was a worthy winner: "I'm not the right person to decide who has been the best player this year. There are people who are qualified to make that decision. I'm very happy about the trophies won with Atlético and for the amount of goals I've scored. This is all very important in my career".
The striker always remembers his homeland and tonight was no different: "It's very important to me and for Columbian football to be present at these events and to win this type of prize. It makes me happy to be able to put the name Columbia in the limelight, so it is known around the world".
