City willing to trump Chelsea in the bidding for Villa

Agüero, Tévez, Dzeko and Balotelli don't appear to be enough to satisfy the demands of Mancini, who is said to be keen on 'El Guaje' after his team's latest defeat.

Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea aren't David Villa's only suitors in the winter transfer market. Manchester City appear to be ready to enter the bidding with a show of strength, according to reports in the English press. The 'Daily Star' published that the blue half of Manchester are as interested in the Barcelona striker as their London rivals Chelsea, an interesting revelation indeed, taking into account the strikers already at City.

Agüero, Tévez, Dzeko and Balotelli don't appear to be enough for Roberto Mancini, who is closer to the brink every day. After his latest stumble in the Premier, away to Sunderland, the Italian coach had harsh words for his players and in particular his front line. "We need to change something, something needs to be done", said the 48 year old from Iesi. The press consider that this "something" could well include the purchase of Villa.

The 'Daily Mail', another English newspaper, also revealed today that Barcelona have announced the amount required to sign Villa, nothing less than 19.5 million euros, which is considerably more than the 14 million Chelsea are believed to be considering.
