Following the official message of support given by Real president Florentino Pérez to Tito Vilanova, José Mourinho's men will come onto the pitch at La Rosaleda wearing T-shirts dedicated to the Barcelona coach.
Sporting rivalry does not come at the expense of professional solidarity. What's more, Madrid have offered similar gestures before. For example, the players came out for a league match last March (coincidentally, also against Málaga) with T-shirts in support of Barça defender Eric Abidal, who had undergone a liver transplant. On the same occasion, they also sported shirts with a message for Fabrice Muamba after the Bolton midfielder's collapse during a match against Tottenham Hotspur.
After suffering a relapse of the cancer first diagnosed in November 2011,Vilanova underwent surgery at the Vall d'Hebron hospital on Thursday. Unless there are any setbacks, he will leave hospital on 24th December to be at home during the festive period.
