Falcao looked back at his amazing year at Atlético Madrid in an interview with Spanish TV channel Cuatro. "It's been a great 2012, amazing. So many great moments that it's difficult to choose between them," the Colombian said as he also gave himself marks out of ten. "I'd give myself a nine. Maybe even 9.5".
His performances, topped off with 17 goals, reflect Atleti's second place in La Liga, four points above their rivals Real Madrid. But the striker was also slightly bothered by the fact his team hardly get a mention, despite their position: "With the type of money Real Madrid and Barcelona have they can afford the best players in the world, but Barça are first, Atlético second and Madrid third, so at the moment you have to speak about Barça and Atlético."
Although "El Tigre" wasn't included among the finalists for the Ballon d'Or, despite the fine year he's had, he only had words of praise for the other players nominated for the award. "Xavi, Iniesta, Casillas are all amazing, they haven't won the Ballon d'Or because there are two beasts in front of them."
After playing against Celta in the Calderón, Falcao has no qualms about taking Christmas holidays: "I'm going to use these days to rest and enjoy spending time with my friends and family." He also looked forward to next year: "I ask for health and that in football next year will be even better."
