Cristian Tello has finally signed a new contract, tying him to the Catalan giants until 30 June 2016. The buy-out clause, agreed last Thursday, is set at 10 million euros.
Tello, 21 years old, made his debut with the first team on 8 November 2011 in the Copa del Rey against Hospitalet, scoring two goals. He played his first league game on 28 January 2012 against Villareal in the Madrigal, with his first goal in the championship coming against Real on 4 February 2012. Since then Tello has been an on-off first team pick, but with his days in the lower teams firmly left behind.
Tello, who played for various teams in the Barcelona set up from 2002 to 2007, also played for Damm and had two seasons with Espanyol. In the summer of 2010 he returned to Barcelona to join the Barça 'B' team.
