Iker Casillas today launched the third edition of the annual charity football match 'El Partido por la ilusión' which is to take place on 23 December.
Former and current footballers and celebrities will contest the match, to be played at the Palacio de Deportes in the Spanish capital, with all money raised from ticket sales going to a charity to promote employment for social excluded youth.
Florentino Pérez attended the launch and praised the Madrid captain as "a Real Madrid and Spain legend, one of the greatest Madrid captains of all time".
"He demonstrates that as well as his sporting successes, he knows how to harness institutional success. Therefore, we fully support him in this endeavour and will help him fill the Palacio de Deportes for this charity match," added the Madrid president.
Former Real Madrid players Miguel Pardeza and Emilio Butragueño attended the event, alongside current vice-captains Marcelo, Sergio Ramos and Gonzalo Higuaín.
