The public prosecutor in Istanbul has called for Atlético Madrid midfielder Emre Belözoglu to be punished with a prison sentence of at least six months for allegedly racially abusing Didier Zokora.
According to Turkish newspaper "Hurriyet", Emre could receive as much as two years in prison for the incident, which took place during a game between Emre's former club Fenerbahçe and Trabzonspor on 15 April 2012.
Emre has admitted insulting Zokora but insists he did not racially abuse him.
The Turkish football federation punished Emre with a two game suspension for the incident, but did not state whether or not the insults had a racist tone.
Trabzonspor filed a lawsuit after the incident and today the court ruled that the insults were racist and called for Emre to be sent to prison.
Emre left Turkey last August to join Atlético Madrid.
