Xavi Hernández has confirmed that he is in talks with Barcelona about a new contract to keep him at the club and has reiterated his desire to hang up his boots at the Camp Nou.
The midfielder told Barcelona's official website:
"Now we are working on a new deal and I hope to be able to continue here for a few more years. Right now the club are happy with me and I'm happy here too."
Xavi revealed that he is feels in great shape and said this fitness would not have any bearing on whether he gets a new contract.
"I'm feeling great and I've completely got over my injuries. Right now Barça are doing everything to make sure I can stay here and so am I. What I want the most is to be able to retire here."
